Ghana vs Uruguay, FIFA World Cup 2022 Live Updates: URU lead 2-0, brace from de Arrascaeta

FIFA World Cup 2022 Ghana vs Uruguay Live Scorecard: Ghana will hope to reach the last 16 when they clash against Uruguay on Friday, but their opponents must win to avoid a humiliating early exit. A draw for the tournament’s lowest-ranked side could be enough for Ghana to join Portugal in the knockout phase, while a point could make for yet another nail-biter for the West Africans in Friday’s simultaneous two-match finale, where all four Group H teams have a shot at qualifying.

Perennial wild cards Uruguay must win in Al Wakrah to go through and will need to fire up their big-name forwards and shake off some dire form that saw them held by South Korea and outclassed by Portugal.

Lineups: Ghana: Lawrence Ati-Zigi, Alidu Seidu, Daniel Amartey, Mohammed Salisu, Baba Rahman, Thomas Partey, Salis Abdul Samed, Mohammed Kudus, Andre Ayew, Jordan Ayew, Inaki Williams; Uruguay: Sergio Rochet, Sebastian Coates, Giorgian de Arrascaeta, Jose Maria Gimenez, Guillermo Varela, Mathias Olivera, Rodrigo Bentancur, Facundo Pellistri, Federico Valverde, Luis Suarez, Darwin Nunez.

22': Uruguay make the move on the other end

Ghana players don't have much time to take in what just happened at the Al Janoub Stadium as Uruguay march deep into the other side of the pitch. Nunez nicks it off Amartey and plays a lovely one-two with De Arrascaeta, who slides it into the box. Ati-Zigi rushes off his line so Nunez dinks it over him, but Salisu rushes back to clear it away from the empty net.
